The Coldest War
The tribes of Queen Anne live a life on the edge. The hill upon which they squat is somewhat defensible from the likes of Esoterics and raiding gangs, but not nearly as defensible as the Spires. That, and constant squabbling warfare makes the Queen Anne tribes a savage, unruly lot clinging to survival.
Once, the tribes were drawn to Queen Anne by a combination of high vantage points and rich salvage. The salvage has long ago been depleted, and seeing the enemy coming only helps so far if you don’t have the numbers to repel them.
The one thing that can be said for the tribes of Queen Anne is that all grudges are set aside when Esoterics try climbing their hill. This effectively plugs the hole between Pike’s Wall and the Locks and keeps the mad creatures from invading the inland lakes.
